History

Visit the area where the last, great Comanche War Chief battled the army in an epic struggle for a way of life.  Walk the land where cattle rustlers were hanged by the legendary Colonel Charles Goodnight.  Follow the path traveled by early Spanish Explorer, Francisco De Coronado, in his search for the fabled 7 Cities of Gold.

 

Plant Life

The Elkins Ranch at Palo Duro Canyon has many wonderful wildflowers as well as some of the best viewing areas in the Panhandle region. During the blooming season, there are abundant wildflowers throughout the prairie and canyon land.
